Tim Maurer, CFP® is an advisor, speaker and the author of Simple Money. He is Director of Personal Finance for the BAM ALLIANCE, a collective of over 140 independent advisory firms with common values and goals. Tim is a CNBC contributor and also writes for Forbes.com and TIME/Money.

He is also part of a group dedicated to serving the second poorest country in the Western hemisphere, Nicaragua, through micro-finance and entrepreneurial ventures.    Mike Blake - Founder and President of Arpeggio Advisors, a business appraisal and strategic advisory firm.  Mike has been a full-time business appraiser for 10 years, and prior to that, he spent 8 years in venture capital and investment banking, including transactions in the U.S., Israel, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Mike specializes in the valuation of intellectual property, emerging technology companies, alternative energy firms, aerospace companies, and professional services firms, most frequently in the capacity as a transaction advisor.

Mike is an active educator.  He is the Special Instructor in Business Valuation for the Emory/GA Tech TIGER program since 2014, and for 4 of the last 5 years, he has led the Certified Valuation Analyst re-certification class for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Mike is very active in the Atlanta startup community.  He is the co-founder of StartupLounge, a nonprofit that supports early stage technology entrepreneurs and investors, he teaches the financial modeling module in Technology Association of Georgia’s annual CapVenture program, and he has coached 5 teams to victory in various business plan competitions for a total of $300,000 in prize money and another entrepreneur who received funding through ABC’s Shark Tank. Mike holds his Bachelor’s degree in Economics (cum laude) from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and his MBA from Georgetown University.  He is a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2014.


Caleb Brown, MBA, CFP® - Caleb is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant, Kolbe CertifiedTM Consultant, and original creator of the FPA Career Day program, which began with the Dallas/ Ft. Worth chapter and subsequently, has been implemented by other FPA chapters across the nation. Throughout Brown's career, he has mentored, hired, managed, and coached many career changers and college students seeking internships and full time positions in financial planning as well as the firm owners who hire them.  Brown is a columnist for Investment Advisor magazine and a frequent speaker on career development topics pertaining to the hiring and successful integration of new planners into financial planning firms. He has been featured in Investment News, Dow Jones, NAPFA Advisor, Financial Planning, Financial Advisor, Virtual Office News, FPA Solutions, and the Journal of Financial Planning regarding his efforts to create a career path for up and coming planners.

Caleb formed New Planner Recruiting in 2009 to source, screen and integrate new financial planners in financial planning firms nationwide.  He was named the Next Generation Influencer by Financial Planning magazine for 2012 and one of the top 25 most influential people in the industry by Investment Advisor for 2014. Most recently he was named to the Investment News 40 under 40 for 2015. He is a member of NAPFA and FPA and recently completed three years of service on the FPA NexGen leadership committee.  He is a graduate of the Texas Tech Personal Financial Planning Program and spent over five years in an RIA firm in North Texas helping a sole practitioner transition the firm to an ensemble model. Recently he was named the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus for the TTU College of Human Sciences as well as the Distinguished Alumnus for the TTU Financial Planning Program in 2014.


   Denis Brown - a Certified Exit Planning Specialist, brings a unique blend of experience to the marketplace as he has been involved in more than 100 transactions as a buyer, seller, investor, advisor or financier of businesses throughout his career. Before founding Pace Capital Advisors, he was involved in private equity for ten years with River Capital, GenCap American and the Slovak American Enterprise Fund. At River Capital and GenCap America, Denis was responsible for identifying, underwriting, structuring, closing and managing investments including developing and implementing growth and exit strategies. As president at the Slovak American Enterprise Fund, he was responsible for its investment portfolio while revising operating and due diligence procedures as well as implementing a new investment strategy. Prior to his involvement in private equity, Denis was a founder of a corporate finance advisory firm, and a Senior Vice President of the Corporate Finance Group of Heller Financial, Inc. He has served as a board member of domestic and international privately held businesses in diverse industries including branded consumer products, recreational consumer products, telecommunications, metal fabrication and household products.

Denis frequently lectures at professional conferences and meetings.     Richard Cohen, M.D. – Richard attended Medical School at Jefferson University Medical School. His Orthopaedic Residency was completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.     Deborah S. Gibbon, CPA, CVA - Debbie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a trained financial neutral for Collaborative Law with 30 years of experience. She previously worked as a Tax Manager with Arthur Andersen and as a Senior Manager in the Litigation Support practice at Bennett Thrasher. She is the founding shareholder of her own firm, Gibbon Financial Consulting, which is dedicated to expert witness testimony, business valuation services and forensic accounting exclusively for family law cases. She has been qualified as an expert witness in multiple jurisdictions and is a frequent speaker for the ICLE of Georgia, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Georgia Society of CPAs. Over her career she has provided counsel on hundreds of divorce cases for middle to high income couples. She graduated cum laude from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband of 31 years and her three college and high school aged sons.


   Brandi Hackett, LMSW, C-ASWCM - is a master’s level social worker specializing in the geriatric population with experience ranging from bereavement care, psychosocial assessment, management, and resource navigation. Her specific background has consisted of work in multiple aspects of the medical field such as: oncology, skilled nursing, hospice, government benefits, and funeral services. Brandi has been with SeniorCare Options since May of 2013 and in this role does intake, discipline-specific education, and certified care management.


  Dr. Robert G. Hetsler, Jr. CPA, CVA, MAFF, FCPA, CFF, CMAP -  is the Managing Director of QDRONOW.com, a firm specializing in the division of retirement and pension accounts in divorce cases. Retirement benefits often comprise a significant portion of the marital assets, and dividing them between spouses is a common part of the divorce process. However, in order to divide them equitably, the value of the retirement benefits accumulated during the marriage must be accurately assessed.

Because of his unique set of financial skills, Dr. Hetsler is often called upon during divorce proceedings by attorneys and mediators nationwide to provide expert assistance in the division of retirement accounts. He has testified as an expert witness in divorce cases involving the valuing of retirement and pension accounts. He has also been retained to provide pension valuations and prepare qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs) for 401(k) accounts, military retirement divisions, pensions, 403(b) accounts, FERS, non-qualified plans and many other types of retirement accounts in thousands of divorce cases.

 Lisa Kaufman  - MS, CMC, CTRS, is a certified professional aging life care™ manager, and has worked specifically with the specialized health needs of the older adult since 1993. She has owned and operated SeniorCare Options since 2001, and she is an active member of the Aging Life Care Association™, and is one of only a handful of certified care managers in Georgia.  In addition to her degrees and national certifications in her fields, Lisa’s credentials include a Certificate of Gerontology from Kennesaw State University, and a certification in Program Development for Dementia Clients.  She is the Past-President of the ALCA™ Southeastern Chapter, a member of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, and is the only Fellow / Certified member of ALCA™ in Georgia. Additionally, Lisa understands the role of the caregiver firsthand, having been caregiver to her elderly grandmother during the end stages of her life. Dan Munster - received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in 1990. He went on to study law at the University of Detroit where he was published on Law Review and clerked for the Michigan Supreme Court. Dan cut his teeth as a young elder law attorney with the Senior Citizens Law Project, a division of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Dan regularly teaches elder law to other attorneys (more than 30 ICLE programs since 1997). In addition, he regularly participates in community education programs for family members and caregivers. He has conducted Elder Law classes for the Evening at Emory program, appeared as a guest attorney on The Layman’s Lawyer television show, and been featured on WGST radio. He contributed to the book A Will Is Not Enough In Georgia and has also been published in various periodicals, including the Georgia Bar Journal, Elder Law Today, Atlanta Hospital News and Lifestyle Transitions Magazine.
